Up to ten new jobs are being created at a Spalding nursing home after undergoing a £1 million makeover.
New lounges and bedrooms designed for residents with dementia at St John’s Care Home, Hawthorn Bank, are the result of investment by owners Country Court Care group, taking the home’s capacity from 43 to 54.
The Market Deeping-based group is now in a position to recruit more staff to cope with the increased capacity and provide support to residents.
Tony Upward, group operations director for Country Court Care, said: “St John’s is an established part of the community but we wanted to really bring it to life and make the most out of the buidling for our residents.
“We are now approaching the end of our £1 million refurbishment of the home and it’s great to have seen the reactions of residents and families as the design has taken shape.
“We are also pleased that these changes will mean the creation of up to ten jobs for the surrounding community.”
Another one of the group’s care homes in South Holland, Ashwood Nursing Home in Spalding, is also looking for new staff after major refurbishment.
Mr Upward said: “It is great to be in a position to offer careers with decent salaries to local people in an economic downturn like this.”
