Five girls will battle it out to be the final Spalding Flower Queen at a glittering ceremony to be held at historic Ayscoughfee Hall on Friday evening.
The five were chosen after initial judging held at Tulip Radio on Thursday evening.
They are Shelley Wilson (24), from Pinchbeck, Rachel Perkins (17), from Spalding, Inca Honnor (17), from Whaplode St Catherine, Florence Butters (19), from Spalding and Heather Turner (17), from Spalding.
Judges will chat to the girls on Friday before the crowning of the 2013 Spalding Flower Queen, who will lead the last ever parade, on Saturday, May 4.
Judges on Thursday evening were Jan Whitbourn of Tulip Radio and Jeremy Ransome, editor of the Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian.
He said: “It was really tough picking just five girls for the big night as they were all smashing. We are guaranteed a cracking Flower Queen for the final parade.”
Shelley, who works in commercial training division of St John Ambulance, writes poetry, enjoys karaoke, cooking and eating out.
Rachel is studying sport at the South Holland Post-16 Centre and works part-time as a waitress at the Mermaid Inn, Surfleet. She also plays hockey for Spalding Ladies 1st team.
Inca studies performing arts at the Post-16 Centre and works part-time at Penningtons cafe. She enjoys dance, drama and singing.
Florence works at the Co-operative Travel in Market Deeping and last year accepted an apprentice of the year award at the House of Commons. She enjoys socialising and keep fit.
Heather also attends the Post-16 Centre and works part time at the Ivy Wall pub.
She enjoys sport, cooking and gardening and is a children’s cancer fundraiser.
