Filling a gap in the market locally for classic country clothing with timeless British style is Long Sutton business Jods ‘n’ Jackets – Country Casuals.

The shop, above Long Sutton Flooring in the Market Place, sells a range of women’s and children’s country clothing in addition to its popular riding wear and has very recently undergone an extension that has more than doubled the space available to display exciting new lines.

From quilted jackets and gilets to polo tops and hoodies, the country clothing range sees pieces that combine traditional sporting heritage with fashion to help customers look smart and stay stylish whether you are in the country or in town.

The riding wear side sees everything for the rider catered for, from show jackets and shirts, tweed jackets, waistcoats and essential jodhpurs and breeches.

Customers can also stock up on accessories, such as boot liners, gloves, socks and headbands for a high-street look on the yard, or just to keep warm this chilly spring.

The extension meant owner Nicola Clarey was able to increase the number of brands on offer, with Tayberry, Toggi and Equetech now joining the likes of Lansdown and Mad Cowes.

And it also means the shop can soon start selling a range of menswear.

Mrs Clarey said she opened Jods ‘n’ Jackets last November after spotting a gap in the market.

She said: “There’s hardly anything like this around here, yet country clothing is becoming really popular. It’s for people who enjoy being in the country, but it is equally at home in town and is becoming really fashionable.”
