Year 5 and 6 pupils from St Norbert’s Catholic Primary School in Spalding have produced their own newspaper to raise funds for a new school litter bin.
Several enthusiastic students attended a lunchtime newspaper club run by former Guardian and Free Press journalist Liz McMurray.
Guardian editor Jeremy Ransome visited as part of the club sessions and talked to the children about the profession before they wrote articles about the school.
Four were then chosen to visit the Guardian offices in The Crescent, where Jeremy helped them design a front page, which is being sold to parents for 50p each to raise cash for a school council litter bin project.
The young writers were Thomas McManamon-Cookson, Atticus and Anya Strickland, Molly Hallissey, Ethan and Jamie Callow, Martin Davison, Scarlett Bergin, Wojciech Such and Daniel Dorey.
