DARTS legend Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams was in Spalding on Wednesday to officially re-open the town’s Wilkinson’s store.
The British Darts Organisation world ranked number one joined Wilkinsons’ head of property, Ian Cutts, and store manager, Lloyd Nicholls, in cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
Lloyd then presented Martin with a cheque for the UK Wolf Conservation Trust, which supports education, conservation and research across Great Britain, through its ambassadorial wolves.
The first 50 shoppers through the doors were each given a goody bag of products from the kitchen range and staff members also hosted a raffle throughout the day, to raise money for Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, Age UK.
Children from Spalding Primary School delivered a host of spring-themed posters to display at the store.
As a thank you the children were presented with vouchers to spend on arts and crafts products.
Lloyd said: “It was an honour to have Martin, a fantastic sportsman who is very well known in the area, along to help us with the re-opening.
“The store looks better than ever, especially with all the colourful posters.”
Martin Adams said: “It was an absolute pleasure joining Wilkinsons and we are extremely grateful for the donation to the UK Wolf Conservation Trust.”
