A Spalding hair and beauty salon has gone a cut above to raise standards in the industry after all of its hairdressers gained national recognition.
The stylists at Crown Affair Hair and Beauty in Hall Place are thrilled to announce that they are now State Registered Hairdressers, awarded by The Hairdressing Council.
In a similar way in which doctors, dentists and nurses can become state registered, the title shows customers that the salon’s team of six hairdressers are qualified by law.
Salon owner Frank Martino, a State Registered Master Craftsman, said stylists who join the register are also helping the council’s campaign to raise professionalism within the hairdressing industry.
He said: “The UK is one of only three countries in the EU where anyone, without so much as a day’s training, can set up and practise as hairdresser. State registration confirms the experience and qualifications of an individual to our customers and sets us apart from the rest.”
The salon, which opened in October 2011, offers clients of all ages a wealth of hair and beauty services and treatments.
Cuts, colours, restyles and smoothing treatments are just a few of the hair services, while its pampering treats include Shellac manicures and pedicures, massages, Dermalogica facials, spray tans and holistic treatments.
There is also a Diamond Touch Clinic offering treatments such as microdermabrasion, Oxynergy treatments, and body firming, as well as a nail bar, and a specialist wig service for customers suffering from medical and illness related hair loss.
