ARTISTIC wizardry is how South Holland Centre’s concert last night was described, and that’s what the Spalding schoolgirls taking part hoped to achieve.
We caught up with pupils at The Sir John Gleed School (Girls’ Campus) in rehearsals before the big concert where they and pupils from other schools were to join percussion duo Maraca2 for a showcase of percussive virtuosity.
Head of performing arts at the Girls’ Campus Carolyn Whittaker said she had chosen the girls from 9J to take part after the invitation to join the mass piece because: “I just think they have been such a good class, fantastic, and they love joining in.”
Fabulous percussion instruments were provided by concert organisers, the South Lincs Music Service.
