A mother-of-two from Sutton Bridge who confessed to stabbing a woman in a 999 call was jailed for 12 months on Monday.
Elaine Bunn (46) stabbed Caroline Wright three times after pursuing her to a chip shop in Long Sutton.
Lincoln Crown Court heard Bunn lashed out with a knife after losing her temper over a man both women had known.
The court was told Mrs Wright suffered two grazes and a 1cm puncture wound during the unprovoked attack.
In a witness statement Mrs Wright described the pain caused by the stab wounds as similar to having a tattoo done.
Despite having no memory of the assault Bunn rang the police afterwards and confessed “I’ve stabbed somebody.”
Mrs Wright’s daughter had earlier received a text message stating “your mum is dead.” Bunn was also heard shouting in the street “I’m going to get her.”
When police searched Bunn’s home in Princes Street they recovered a ceremonial dagger and two knuckledusters. Seven cannabis plants were also found growing in a locked room.
During interview Bunn admitted producing a small amount of cannabis for her own use but she denied being responsible for the attack on Mrs Wright.
Bunn, of Princes Street, Sutton Bridge, later pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm to Mrs Wright and possessing an offensive weapon on September 14, 2011.
Passing sentence Judge Michael Heath told Bunn there could be no alternative to prison for stabbing another person in the street.
Judge Heath said: “What you did was out of character, but it was serious because it is quite clear there was a degree of premeditation.
“You pursued Caroline Wright, when you alighted from a vehicle you were plainly drunk and had a knife with you.
“You used that knife and stabbed her three times. There were two grazes caused and a puncture wound.”
