A drug dealer caught red-handed as he divided a supply of cannabis into street deals has been jailed for 30 months.
Brett Mason was arrested when police raided his uncle’s home in Morton.
Catarina Sjolin, prosecuting at Lincoln Crown Court last Friday, said Mason was found in the bathroom with two other men.
She said: “The paraphernalia of a drug dealer was found in the bathroom. There was a large amount of cannabis, a set of electronic scales and a supply of re-sealable plastic bags.
“Eight grammes of cannabis was on the electronic scales being weighed out when the officers entered.”
Mason’s mobile phone, which contained a number of text messages linking him to drug dealing, was found in the living room.
His uncle Kieron Mason’s mobile phone also contained drug messages.
Brett Mason (20), of The Broadway, Morton, admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply on September 2, 2009.
He was jailed for 30 months with his sentence to run concurrently with a sentence he is already serving.
He was given an indefinite jail sentence for public protection in February 2011 when he was ordered to serve a minimum of six years custody after being convicted of raping of two schoolgirls.
Kieron Mason (46), also of The Broadway, Morton, denied possession of cannabis with intent to supply but was found guilty after a trial earlier this year. He was jailed for 12 months.
Recorder Keith Raynor told them: “You were caught red-handed. The two of you were in a joint family operation to supply drugs to users.”
Timothy Bowden, for Brett Mason, said: “He was simply buying and selling the drugs.
“He cannot be said to have any substantial link to a chain. He bought in bulk and sold it on in street deals.”
Anwar Nashashibi, for Kieron Mason, said the drugs were seized by police and there was no evidence any were actually sold.
He said: “It was a drug that he himself was plainly addicted to.
“He says he gave up 11 weeks ago and is not now using cannabis.”
