Friends of Sutton Bridge playing fields are celebrating a £9,999 Lottery “win” that will allow them to start work on installing top of the range outdoor fitness equipment in Memorial Park.
Group chairman Shirley Giles (pictured) said: “Our intention is to provide colourful and interesting ways to help local people improve their health and enjoyment of the park. We look forward to the opening ceremony, which should take place at the beginning of October.”
Mrs Giles thanked South Holland District Council’s Karen Johnson and the playing fields group members for their help in the bid for a grant from The Big Lottery Fund, which is the biggest distributor of “good causes” cash raised by the National Lottery.
The new exercise equipment will be sited near to the children’s play area.
