A shed fire at a derelict turkey factory in Spalding is thought to have been started deliberately, police are confirming today.
The blaze broke out in a wooden shed at the factory in Clay Lake some time after 6pm yesterday and firemen from Spalding, Holbeach and Donington used a hose reel to put it out.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The fire was reported to us at 6.50pm and we are treating it as arson into which enquiries are ongoing.
Meanwhile, firemen from Spalding and Crowland were called to a blaze involving industrial equipment on Postland Road, Crowland, yesterday afternoon.
An engine fault was to blame for the blaze which left an excavator badly damaged and firemen wore breathing apparatus while using hose reels and dry powder extinguishers to put out the fire.
