A road crash in Long Sutton was among six callouts for firemen during a four-hour strike by members of the Fire Brigade’s Union today.
The crash on St James Road at about 1.20pm involved one vehicle which was made safe by crews from Holbeach and Long Sutton.
In total across Lincolnshire, there were two chip pan fires, a fire alarm callout and two incidents dealt with retained firemen.
Almost 300 firemen in the county are members of the union who took industrial action because of a row with the Government over pay and pension conditions.
A Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “We continued to provide an emergency response during industrial action after implementing business continuity plans.
“All incidents were responded to in the normal timeframe and to the same high standards as normal.”
