Spalding Business Club is hoping a change of venue will boost interest in its monthly meetings after moving them to Bookmark on The Crescent.

The informal networking event for businesspeople in Spalding meets every first Thursday of the month at 7am when guest speakers are invited to talk about different aspects of business and enterprise.

Club officials decided to move their meetings from The Punchbowl on New Road to Bookmark in a bid to attract new members, with Robyn Sinclair of Spalding-based REM Marketing Ltd being the guest speaker this Thursday.

Her talk is on The Changing Face of Business and Retail - How to Compete in the Modern World and Robyn said: “I’m very much looking forward to it having attended a few meetings over recent months.

“It’s a great opportunity for businesses in Spalding to get together and network which is a very important part of business these days.

There is no membership fee but entry is £8 which covers the cost of breakfast and a contribution towards future speakers.

Club spokesman Ken Maggs said: “The club is a fantastic opportunity for people who work in the town to share their ideas and skills in order to help improve businesses throughout Spalding.

“In business, everyone needs contacts and this is a great way to get to know other businesspeople better who may be able to help.
