SPALDING Primary School pupils were inspired by the Olympic Dream for their summer production.
More than 100 Year Five and Six pupils took part in the musical Go for Gold which compared the experience of sportsmen and women in ancient Greece to the modern day Olympic Games.
The play was centred around promising athlete Suzie Swift and her journey towards sporting glory with coach Phil O’Sophie.
Suzie was shown how the training regimes and sponsorship rows of today were in stark contrast to the lives of the original Olympians about 3,000 years ago.
Three separate performances of the musical attracted more than 250 parents, some of whom helped with costumes.
Teacher Katie Thompson said: “It was quite humorous and light-hearted, but it also showed the children that it’s taking part that counts.”
