A MAN appearing at Spalding Magistrates’ Court for burglary was arrested there for two shoplifting offences.
Konrad Wloch stole a door lock and hinge worth £33.82 from Wilkinson, on Holland Market, Spalding, on December 22 and a TV worth £169.99 from neighbouring Sainsbury’s on March 6.
Rebecca Ritson, prosecuting, said police recognised Wloch from CCTV footage and he was arrested on July 12 at court because police knew where he would be on that day.
Wloch told police he stole the hardware for a friend, but sold the TV.
He was ordered to do 170 hours’ unpaid work for the burglary at his July 12 appearance and magistrates on Thursday gave him 40 consecutive hours as part of a new year-long community order. He must also pay £288.81 compensation to the stores and £85 costs.
Wloch (30), of High Street, Purley, pleaded guilty to both thefts,
Solicitor John McKanna said Wloch’s partner and daughter live in this area and he is based in Croydon and works as a labourer.
Mr McKanna said Wloch was arrested and charged with the offences on the day of his last court appearance and he has just that one conviction.
