Long Sutton trader Nicola Clarey has brought her sparetime love of horses to opening the town’s newest shop, called Jods and Jackets.

She’s started selling quality country clothing for riders upstairs from Long Sutton Flooring, the Market Place business she’s run for more than four years with her carpet-fitter husband Nick.

Nicola said: “I’ve been riding since I was very young and I know that you have to make a special journey to most tack shops - they tend to be in garden centres or farmyards.

“My idea was to bring a tackshop into the town centre, so customers could just pop in and have a browse as part of their normal shopping.

“We’re open the same hours as the flooring shop - up to 5pm on weekdays and until ipm on Saturdays and half-day closing Wednesdays.”

Jods and Jackets launched at the end of November and is getting busier as word spreads.

It sells a variety of riding, show and country casual wear, mostly for women and children.
