The numbers came up for Sam Spendla who was one of two Spalding Grammar School students to collect four A*s, five As and four Bs.
Sam (16) of Long Sutton was one of the students named in the school’s GCSE top ten and he now plans to study information and communication technology, maths, further maths and physics at A-level.
He said: “I’m very pleased with my results, even though I was expecting to get an A* in geography.
“It’s been nerve-racking waiting for them but my parents were very supportive and I’m going to celebrate by going to a gaming festival with my friends.”
Sam is staying on at the school’s sixth-form after staff helped him to achieve his impressive GCSE grades.
“There’s a great sense of community here,” he said.
