Separate hit-and-run collisions in Spalding this week have left two people with a suspected broken leg and elbow respectively.

The most recent happened on Tuesday when a man, aged 26, was knocked off his bicycle on Park Road by a quad bike whose rider left the scene.

It happened at about 6pm and the cyclist was taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, where he was treated for a suspected broken leg, cuts and bruises.

Police think the quad bike was white and light blue in colour and they are trying to trace a woman dog walker who stopped and spoke to the injured cyclist after the collision.

A week earlier, a pedestrain was left with a broken elbow after she was hit by a car on Queens Road at about 6.45pm on Tuesday, September 17.

The 24-year-old woman, who asked not to be named, said: “I left my house to go to my sister’s and I’d only gone 20 yards when I heard a car coming up behind me.

“It mounted the kerb and the next thing I knew, the car hit me, dismounted the kerb and sped off.

“I stood there in shock for a minute before going on to my sister’s house to get help.

“My elbow and arm were left bruised by the accident, but I told the police all that I knew and they advised me to go to hospital.”

Police are looking for the driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa in connection with the collision.

Anyone with information about either accident should call 101, quoting incidents
376 of September 17 respectively.
