A woman was double the drink-drive limit when police spotted her driving without lights in Spalding’s Albion Street.
Lucy Howes (22), of The Brambles, Holbeach, was stopped and tested by police who saw her white Audi on August 10.
Jim Clare, prosecuting, told magistrates Howes failed a roadside breath test and an evidential test at the police station revealed she had 70 microgrammes of alcohol in breath.
Howes was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £265 with £85 costs and a £26 victim surcharge.
Magistrates offered Howes the chance to cut four months off the ban if she completes a rehabilitation course at her own expense.
Solicitor Anita Toal, mitigating, said: “She had no intention to drive home, the intention was to get a taxi.
Mrs Toal continued: “She states she wasn’t in a particularly good frame of mind – she doesn’t really know what went through her head.
“She just wanted to get home and she took the foolish decision to drive home.”
Mrs Toal said Howes works in Spalding and would find it difficult to go by public transport.
